I realize that this blog is a little late, but I still
decided to post it. During the first week of December my friends and I decided
to go to The Speedway in Lights @ Bristol Motor Speedway. I have not been in
several (SEVERAL) years and I was super excited to go because this is my
FAVORITE time of year and I love..love..love Christmas lights. So after driving
for what seemed like 5 miles we finally get in line…a loooonnnnngggg line I
might add. We finally get to the part where the lights start and I have to
admit at that point my excitement faded…rather rapidly I might add. There were
A LOT of lights but there wasn’t much of a theme and they were just randomly
placed. Not to mention that several of the displays had local companies logos
on it (which I understand, but not very Christmasy). I just have to say that
for $15 per car, an hour wait and 1-1.5 hrs to go through the whole thing
driving 2 mph…it wasn’t worth it!! I know that they proceeds go to a great
cause, but I have to say I will probably never go back!!
I have to admit that this was the best display that I saw during the whole ride!!

Honestly it has gone down hill over the past few years. The only thing I go there for now is for the Village and the Ice Skating. But honestly even the Village isn't doing so well.
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely not what it used to be...I mean the $ goes to a good cause but I probably wont go back. I can't comment on the village or the skating but the lights..meh!
